Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about modular bags, customization, and working with ModularBagPro.

What is a modular backpack?

+

A modular backpack is a bag system with interchangeable, detachable components that can be added, removed, or reconfigured based on your needs. Unlike traditional backpacks with fixed compartments, modular backpacks use connection systems like Fidlock magnetic fasteners or MOLLE webbing to let you customize your carry setup for different occasions.

How does the Fidlock magnetic connection work?

+

Fidlock technology uses a patented magnetic-mechanical locking mechanism. Magnets guide the connector into the correct position, and a mechanical lock engages automatically. To release, simply slide or press the connector — it's secure during use but releases in one motion when needed.

How does the MOLLE system work on backpacks?

+

MOLLE (Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment) is a webbing system consisting of horizontal rows of heavy-duty nylon webbing stitched onto the bag. Pouches and accessories with MOLLE-compatible straps weave through these rows and snap in place, creating a secure, customizable attachment system originally developed for military use.

What is the difference between OEM and ODM for custom bags?

+

OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) means we manufacture bags to your exact design specifications. You provide the design, and we produce it. ODM (Original Design Manufacturer) means we handle both design and manufacturing — you provide the concept, and our team creates the product from scratch. OEM is ideal for brands with existing designs; ODM is best for startups or companies without in-house design teams.

What is the MOQ for custom modular bags?

+

Our standard MOQ is 300 pcs for bulk orders. We also offer trial orders starting at 50 pcs for new clients who want to test the market before committing to larger quantities. Sample orders (1 pcs) are available with a refundable deposit.

How long does it take to make a sample?

+

Standard samples are ready within 7 working days. Special requirements such as custom molds, unique hardware, or complex Fidlock configurations may require 10-12 working days.

What payment terms do you accept?

+

We accept T/T (bank transfer), L/C (letter of credit), PayPal, and Western Union. Standard payment terms are 50% deposit to start production and 50% balance before shipping.

What materials are used in modular backpacks?

+

We use a wide range of high-quality materials including Cordura fabric (for durability), ripstop nylon (lightweight and tear-resistant), TPU (thermoplastic polyurethane for waterproofing), PVC (for waterproof bags), and various polyester blends. All materials can be customized based on your requirements.

Are modular backpacks waterproof?

+

Waterproofing depends on the materials chosen. We offer IPX4 to IPX8 waterproof ratings using TPU or PVC fabrics with welded seams. Let us know your waterproofing requirements, and we will recommend the appropriate materials and construction methods.

What certifications does ModularBagPro have?

+

We hold ISO9001:2015 (Quality Management), BSCI (Social Compliance), SEDEX (Ethical Trade), and REACH (Chemical Safety) certifications. Our factory is regularly audited to maintain these certifications.

Can I customize the modular compartments and Fidlock placement?

+

Absolutely. You can customize the number, size, and position of modular compartments and Fidlock connection points. Our design team will work with you to determine the optimal configuration for your product's intended use case.

What shipping methods do you use?

+

We ship via DHL, FedEx, and UPS for express delivery (3-7 days). For bulk orders, we offer air freight (7-15 days) and sea freight (25-40 days). Shipping method can be selected based on your budget and timeline requirements.
